We’re very proud of Nancy Knapp’s 5th grade students, who performed as part of our YEAA (Youth Eco Arts Action) project at the Odd Fellows Hall in Eastsound, WA on March 15, 2015. The students performed their own original stories, and two of the students performed an original song, at the annual “Tides of March” event presented by our friends at Kwiáht. It was wonderful to work with the students, with Nancy, and with Russel Barsh of Kwiáht on this project, combining arts and environmental education. The specific topic of this performance was stormwater runoff – the problem and solutions. Thanks to the Orcas Island Community Foundation for providing funding through their Partners in Philanthropy program. Thanks also to Susan Slapin and Erin Bennett for the photos!
